Article to video
Paste a link, get a video of the article.
Give KolaVid the link to a blog post, a news explainer, a help page or a product page. It reads the page, writes a spoken explanation of the main points and draws each idea on a whiteboard as the narrator says it. Nothing to copy and paste. A free account makes one 2-minute video with no card.

How to turn an article into a video
- Sign up free and open the composer.
- Paste the link to the article. Add a line on who the video is for and what to focus on, such as "for customers: just the setup steps".
- Choose a frame (16:9, 9:16 or 1:1), a length of 1, 2, 3 or 5 minutes, and a female or male voice in the narration language you want.
- KolaVid reads the page, writes the narration and draws one idea a board. It is usually ready in a minute or two.
- Download the MP4, share a link or embed the video on the page it came from.

What KolaVid does with a link
KolaVid opens the page and reads the article itself, so you don't copy anything. It writes a spoken explanation of the main points rather than reading the article aloud, and draws each point as the narrator says it. Every word on the board is a word the narrator says.
If a page cannot be read, for example because it sits behind a login or a paywall, copy the article's text and paste it instead.
Tips: choosing and framing the page
- Link to the article itself, not the home page or a list of posts. The video explains the page it reads.
- One article, one video. A link to one clear post makes a clearer video than a page that covers ten topics.
- Say what to focus on. "Only the three setup steps" or "the main argument, not the history" keeps a long article to what your viewer needs.
- Say who is watching. The same article explained "for customers" and "for our sales team" makes two different videos.
- Name the takeaway. Tell KolaVid the one thing a reader should remember from the article, and the video is built around it.
- Match the length to the article. A 2-minute video holds about 268 words of narration, so a 2,000-word post becomes its main points. Choose 3 or 5 minutes for a long guide, or make a short series.
- Put the video back on the article. Embed it at the top of the post so readers can watch first and read the detail after.
- Make a vertical version for social: 9:16 for Reels, TikTok and WhatsApp Status, with a link back to the full article.
- Help centre articles make good videos: one article, one task, one short video a customer can follow step by step.
- Check pages you did not write. The video explains what the page says, so a page that is wrong or out of date gives a video that is too.
- For a video you publish, start from your own pages or from pages you have the right to use.
- Page behind a login or a paywall? Copy the text you are allowed to use and paste it instead of the link.
- Watch it once before you share it. If a line or a board is not right, press Edit and make just that scene again.
Pages that make good videos
Blog posts and guides, help centre articles, product and feature pages, release notes, news explainers and reference pages. If the page explains something, KolaVid can explain it on a whiteboard in a short video.
Can I turn an article into a video for free?
Yes. A free account comes with 120 credits, enough for one 2-minute video, with no card. Free videos carry a small KolaVid mark.
Do I have to copy the article's text?
No. Paste the link and KolaVid reads the page. If a page is behind a login or a paywall, paste the text instead.
Does the narrator read the article word for word?
No. KolaVid explains the main points in plain spoken sentences. To have exact words narrated, paste them as a script.
Can I put the video on my blog?
Yes. Download the MP4, or embed the player on the post with its embed code. Free videos are embedded with a small "Made with KolaVid" link.
Does the video have captions?
Yes. Every new whiteboard video has captions in its narration language. Viewers switch them on with CC, and you can download them as .srt or .vtt or as an MP4 with the captions burned in.
Can I edit the video afterwards?
Yes. Open the video and press Edit: rewrite what the narrator says in any scene, redraw a board, change a word on the board or switch the voice. You pay only for the scenes made again, and every version is kept.
